Target group	This training is for operators with little or no previous experience using a counterbalance forklift truck. And who wish to achieve a nationally recognised operator qualification in the safe and correct use of counterbalance forklift up to a 5000kg lifting capacity.
Prerequisites	No prerequisites needed for this training.
Objectives	The course will give you the skills to operate the truck safely and efficiently.
Contents	Course introduction and induction Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 – approved code of practice Operator Safety Code Pre-use inspections Defect reporting procedures Lift Truck stability – Engineering principles and weight assessment Driving within simulated working conditions Manoeuvring skills Rated capacity / Load centre Hydraulic system and use of the controls Stacking / de-stacking – load handling skills Vehicle loading and offloading Refuelling and Recharging procedures including battery handling and housing Theoretical examination Practical examination
Exam	To pass the exam must be 75 % successful
